Suppose you have time to stay in Nepal a little longer after trekking. In that case, we can arrange additional excursions such as a Chitwan jungle safari tour, a Lumbini, Pokhara, Nagarkot tour, or rafting. If your itinerary does not include visiting Kathmandu's UNESCO World Heritage sites, we can arrange a sightseeing tour before or after your trekking experience.
The adventure typically begins in Kathmandu (1334m), the bustling capital of Nepal, where trekkers can explore historical monuments and prepare for their journey. The actual trek starts after a short and thrilling flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. Lukla, situated at an altitude of 2860 meters, is a small town with an airstrip renowned for its dramatic location amidst the mountains.
Update Note: Flights to Lukla do not always leave from Kathmandu. During peak trekking season, flights are diverted to Manthali airport in Ramechhap. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) announced in October 2022 that flights will no longer operate from Kathmandu to Lukla during peak trekking season. They have defined peak season as April 1st – May 30th and October 1st—November 30th each year. This change is being made to reduce congestion at Kathmandu airport.
